The Gallery - November Show

A fiber show has been scheduled for the month of November 2009 at “The Gallery” in Whittier California. We have the entire gallery and we need all members to participate.

GUIDELINES

1. All art pieces must be for sale (60% to artist, 40% to gallery).

2. The cost is $20 for up to 3 pieces submitted.

3. Artist are encouraged to submit at least two pieces for review and jurying.
  Suggested range of sizes: small 18 x 18 through large 48’ x 48’ 

4. Paperwork must be submitted on line and include:  (a) Submission form (b) New bio form

5. Digital’s photos must be submitted online by September 12 (1 full shot and 1 detail
  view) to Jeanette Kelly

6. Work may have been shown before, but must be original. No patterns.

ADDITIONAL

1. Since this is a Fiber Show, artists may choose to include framed or pieces stretched over canvass.  Pieces must be wired for gallery hanging. (Frame d or stretched pieces may be smaller than 18 x18)

2. Art Quilts must have a sleeve and accompanying support (wood, rods)

3. Artist who have their work selected will have opportunities for smaller packaged pieces to be included in bins.

4. It is possible that figurative, dimensional or vessels can be included in this show which would be displayed on pedestals.

CALENDAR

Sept. 12 - Digital Photos must be submitted electronically to Jeanette Kelly - Quilts can be turned in at the 12 Sep 09 meeting with entry forms and a check for $20.00.

Oct. 10 is the last day for quilts to be turned in. Please meet Jeanette at the library by 10:00 am. 

Oct.  28 - 31  Installation of the show (need volunteers)
Nov. 03 - 28  Exhibition dates of the show
Nov. 14      Reception from 3 -5 pm (all artists are expected to be present)
Nov. 21      Demonstration of the art quilt process from 2 -5 pm.
Dec. 01      Take down of the quilts (need volunteers)
